Change Don’t make fun of me, Because I am different, Don’t judge me, For who I am. Don’t look into my face, And say you love me, When you’re going to, Turn around and dismiss me. I am a human being, And I am not your victim I have cried my last tears, I mean it when I say I love you, I mean it when I say I care. Just because we are different, Doesn’t mean, We shouldn’t care. We blow kisses to each other, We blow kisses to the wind. Never knowing that this could, Very well be the end. The end of another day, That we wasted just sitting on your porch, Watching the autumn leaves, Glide down to the ground, In a disarray heap of color, Every second spent, Was a second remembered. From the time that we met, To the time we have spent. But lately we are drifting, Drifting down a river called Change. The river pulls this way and that, Trying to make us turn our backs, Turn our backs on the people we trust. Turning us into the image they want. We have the will power, To stand up and say, I am my on person, And my own person I will stay. We can all stand together, Together and say, We are who are, No matter the price, I will stay true to myself, And all the things that I want, I am Me, No matter what comes my way, No matter what happens, I will forever stay. *tell me what you think of my poem* |
